PGAL provided complete programming and needs assessment for the courthouse operations as well as full A/E design services. General and specialty courtrooms, judges chambers, judicial support office, the district attorney, the public defender, the clerk of the courts, prisoner delivery and holding are the primary elements of the program.
The South County Courthouse project included construction of a 75,000 square foot courthouse addition, the remodeling of the existing 68,000 square foot existing courthouse, and the construction of a garage that serves the courthouse as well as a planned public library. This exceptionally complex project incorporated multiple phases and bid packages to ensure that the existing courthouse and all courthouse functions remained fully operational and available to the public for the full duration of construction.
