PGAL designed the award-winning Harris County Criminal Justice Center to project the correct image of the courts and provide the latest in courtroom technology and security while maintaining strict budget control. The theme of spaciousness and calm is carried throughout the interior of the 21-story building with vaulted ceilings and recessed lighting. Finishes include terrazzo, granite, marble, and wood paneling. The "smart" courtrooms are outfitted with jury monitors, evidence presentation technology, and outside video feeds. Construction was completed in 1999.
