Harris County selected PGAL as part of the design-build team for this 4,156-bed, maximum-security jail, one of the largest county jails to be built in the United States. The new jail includes visitation areas, kitchen facilities, medical treatment clinic, MHMRA, exam rooms, and medical holding. The building configuration and layout contributed heavily to the low cost-per-bed. Also included is a $3M employee parking area as well as street-level parking.
