PGAL is serving as Architects of Record and Justice Specialists for this 127,000 SF Design for Excellence Justice Program. Registered for Silver LEED Certification and designed for bomb-blast protection, the $50 million facility houses district courtrooms, judges’ chambers, federal offices and support space. The Mediterranean revival design allows the new federal facility to harmonize seamlessly with its neighbors. The HVAC design features controls to maintain positive interior space pressurization to provide protection from outside contaminants and other exterior threats. Groundbreaking is scheduled for January 2009 with completion September 2011.
