Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas - Houston Branch

Houston, Texas

Construction Cost: $95M
Completion Date: 2005

PGAL provided design services for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas - Houston Branch which provides an inviting civic gateway to Houston's central business district. Its iconic architecture incorporates timeless design with classical elements drawn from the city's Texas heritage and regional style. It is constructed of warm brick with a green sloping tile roof and a front porch similar to the shotgun houses surrounding it in the Fourth Ward. The design balances accessibility and security, while maintaining a sense of openness as it transitions from public spaces to secure process areas.

Features of the 300,000 square foot facility include administrative offices, a full-service cafeteria, outdoor dining terrace, full-service kitchen, divisible multi-purposes meeting room, wellness center, tiered classroom space, employee store as well as facilities for the Bank's processing and building support operations, a major data center for data processing and electronic payments, and free-standing vault.
