Community Credit Union

Plano, Texas

Construction Cost: $650K
Completion Date: 1997

PGAL designed this Community Credit Union project as an innovative new concept in delivery of customer services. Designed as an "Express" banking facility, it departs from the traditional employment of interior lobby tellers, and provides teller transactions only in the drive-in mode.

This concept was initiated by the credit union in order to expand and more effectively service its field of membership without constructing their larger and more expensive branch facilities. By eliminating lobby tellers, the personnel cost of operating the express facility was also lowered significantly. The interior customer lobby space of the building contains four credit union personnel to transact only loan and savings transactions, along with new account and customer service related issues.

This 2,500 SF building with an extended canopy that covers six drive-in lanes and one ATM lane, is in Plano, Texas. This prototypical facility is designed so that the lobby area can be expanded and be adapted to a full service type branch at other locations.
