UH Shea Street Business School

Houston, Texas

Construction Cost: $28.4M
Completion Date: 2007

PGAL was selected to provide planning and design services for a new 4-story, 132,500 SF Academic Building and 620-space Parking Garage at the University of Houston - Downtown Campus. The design-build project, located in a dense, urban area, incorporates a design concept that reinforces both a physical and visual connection to the UH-D One Main Building.

The most challenging issue affecting current and future growth at UH-D is the availability of land surrounding the Downtown campus. The PGAL design considers future potential development of adjacent sites and provides its users continuous flow along Main Street - which houses Houston's new METRO rail and is a major transportation corridor in Houston's Downtown. The facility allows for maximum visible security, program functionality and a strong relationship to the overall campus.
