PGAL, in association with Michael Graves Architects, was retained by Rice University to affect $55.6 million in improvements including the expansion of Brown College. The PGAL team provided architectural, structural, MEP, civil, landscaping, food service, acoustical and audiovisual consulting as well as design and selection of FF&E.
The project includes adding 58 beds to Brown College, new dining and commons areas for movies and theatre productions with concealed theatrical lighting. Student living spaces feature high speed data communications outlets to each student's desk. The building is organized around a common courtyard which incorporates existing buildings.
