The FAU Honors College Student Residences is a privatized, Design/Build/Finance project. It was designed by PGAL using the SUS Professional Services Guide and Cost Containment Guidelines. The 4-building, 500-bed phased project is sited on 12-acres and includes a commons dining building, recreational amenities, a central utility plant and parking for 400 cars.

Painted stucco exteriors (low maintenance) and broad roof overhangs (energy conservation) will distinguish the complex as a contemporary facility. The buildings are arranged to form semi-private quadrangles. Height, massing and arched loggias will identify key building entry points. Landscaping is simple and employs CPTED concepts with an extensive use of shade trees and ground cover, allowing maximum visibility by pedestrians.
