About PGAL Opportunities Offices Clients

AMX (formerly Panja) World Headquarters

Richardson, Texas

Construction Cost: $11.235M
Completion Date: 2000

PGAL was chosen to assist in site selection, master planning, design and construction for the new 130,000 SF world headquarters facility. The client's goals for the project were to have a corporate facility with a high tech image utilizing a spec office budget, to integrate flexibility into their facility for potential explosive growth, and to help employee recruiting and retention by creating a casual high tech atmosphere, while maintaining a neighborhood scale.

PGAL accomplished these goals by consolidating the landscaping for bigger impact, using tilt-up construction creatively and incorporating insightful overall planning. The facility is sited inside a round oasis of landscaping, with the building planned as simple tilt wall neighborhood modules arranged along a main large red concrete spine. This sculptural high tech wall is punched with rectangular openings wired for future signage and features. Inside, high energy public activities such as dining, training, teaming, and circulating happen along this spine, while the neighborhood modules house the more private functions such as open offices, labs, etc. The completed headquarters has the unique characteristic features of a build-to-suit facility for a high tech corporation with the functionality and cost of a spec building.
