PGAL was retained by the Boy Scouts of America- Sam Houston Area Council, to design the 56,000 SF headquarters for this nonprofit, volunteer-supported organization. The facility primarily serves adult volunteers and is located on a 6.8-acre site. The $13-million building conveys a warm, bright, customer friendly atmosphere with a distinctive use of natural materials such as brick, stone, wood, stucco and glass, as well as landscaping and a flag plaza. Parking is available for 200 cars.

The Sam Houston Area Council annually trains more than 11,000 adult leaders in areas such as leadership skills, Scoutcraft skills and related developmental content. This new facility enables the Sam Houston Area Council to enhance its services in fostering these important skills in support of the youth of America.
