PGAL was selected as the prime consultant for final civil/structural, architectural, and urban design of Line Section 5, also known as the Downtown Section, of METRO's Light Rail Transit Line, including design services during construction, and resident engineer services. Fast-track design responsibilities include paving, sidewalk and streetscape modifications; traffic signals and traffic control; trackway subbase preparation and embedded track slabs, substation and pole foundations; ductbank/conduits; residual utility work; signage; esplanades; and stations and amenities. Construction value of the Downtown Section is estimated at $36 million.
