Greenacres Municipal Complex
Greenacres, Florida
Construction Cost: $4.9M
Completion Date: 2005
The City of Greenacres commissioned PGAL to design a new 23,750 SF City Hall and 10,350 SF Public Works Complex, located on a 19.5 acre heavily wooded site surrounded by residential neighborhoods. The City Hall includes administrative offices, data center, and video-equipped council chambers accommodating 120 people with overflow space for an additional 60 visitors. The complex is designed to be functional, flexible, and easily expanded for future growth of the City Center.
Parking is divided into smaller lots between buildings to minimize visual impact and maximize security. Storm water runoff is incorporated into integrated lake features.
Classical architectural language is utilized to create details that complement the design concept and create a prominent governmental complex within a residential scale.
